Algorithm Development Engineer (Python/c++ integration) at Rebellion Photonics (Houston, TX)

Rebellion Photonics is a platform provider of intelligent visual monitoring systems for the oil & gas industry. Our award-winning Gas Cloud Imaging (GCI) system uses proprietary hyperspectral imaging technology coupled with physics-enhanced artificial intelligence to detect and quantify gas leaks in real-time as far as 1 mile away. The system provides actionable video of gas leaks as they occur and tracks the resulting plume as it moves throughout a facility.

You are going to be a part of the machine learning team to create cutting edge hazard detection algorithms. You will work with a group of data scientists, physicists, software and hardware engineers in a R&D environment to foster development from prototype to product.

Responsibilities: 

  • Improve and optimize image-based algorithms
  • Translate existing python code into forms that are easily implementable in C++
  • Optimize and maintain libraries (python)
  • Validate and test algorithms
  • Collaborate with others in an interdisciplinary software development team
  • Assist software development teams with troubleshooting algorithm implementation problems
  • Help define product features and brainstorm ideas that improve overall product quality

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication is a must
  • 5+ years of experience in C++ and Python in a software development environment 
  • Experienced with developing prototype code into stable production code 
  • Graduate degree in Applied Math or Computer Sciences is preferred 
  • Expertise in optimization of algorithm, such as numerical stability, error propagation 
  • Familiarity with image processing algorithms
  • Knowledge of machine learning and statistics
  • US Citizen or a Green Card holder
  • Located in Houston or willing to relocate
