RF Engineer at Insight Global (Atlanta, GA)

An Insight Global client  is currently seeking an RF Engineer for a full time position in the Atlanta, GA area. The candidate will work with Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology to develop Ultra-Wide Bandwidth SDR systems utilizing open standards such as VITA 49.2 and define guidance for acquisition, development, and standardization.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and technical standards for utilization in SDR systems
  • Research and recommend strategic, innovative and cost-effective solutions to replace legacy RF systems
  • Conduct test engineering and evaluation of RF systems
  • Model software and hardware systems using the latest Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
  • Develop SDR algorithms and architecture for various military and industrial applications
  • Analyze RF signal data
  • Execute countermeasures and vulnerability analysis of RF systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Education & Length of Experience REQUIRED:
  • A Masters degree in Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree
  • A Masters degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree,
  • A Doctoral degree in Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field
Note: Consideration may be given to those holding at least a Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of related work experience


Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience developing complex, software intensive, military or avionics systems using system engineering processes and methodologies
  • Experience creating and conducting technical presentations
  • Minimum 6 years of applicable experience in a technical field


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing system design for Electronic Warfare systems
  • Experience processing and analyzing data with tools such as Python or R
  • Experience with avionic data buses (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Ethernet, RS-422, etc), tactical data links, military radios, and open systems architectures
  • Experience designing systems using Model Based System Engineering (SysML) and agile methodologies
  • Experience designing secure and safety system solutions
  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting systems
  • Experience with configuration management and requirements management systems
  • Experience leading small to mid-sized technical tasks and/or teams
  • Active SECRET clearance
