We provide grid operators with the power to enhance grid performance, stability and responsiveness while delivering capacity at the right time and the right price.We also provide commercial, industrial and municipality clients with reliability and power quality solutions as well as peak shaving and demand charge management solutions to lower their utility bill and, in the unregulated markets, provide ancillary market services to generate revenue.Leveraging the skills of Ormat Technologies and Viridity Energy Solutions teams of energy solutions and storage experts, we have an extensive track record of successfully delivering projects in the US electricity markets.Job DescriptionAs a Data Analyst, you will examine large data sets to identify trends, develop charts, and create visual presentations to help the business make strategic decisions.This position will work with a cross-functional team at the intersection of data science and engineering providing support for Viriditys Battery Storage as a Service (BSAAS) platform. The Analyst will further apply modeling, optimization, and forecasting techniques to develop and effectively communicate solutions that drive business decisions and asset operation/management strategies.QualificationsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAnalyze, clean, transform, and visualize data setsUnderstand battery performance characteristics and wholesale markets to drive data analysisProvide decision support for energy storage business activities and projectsImplement data analytics programs and results using the Viridity technology platformAssist in developing modeling, optimization, and forecasting algorithms as requiredCommunicate and present results across Viriditys functional departmentsOther Responsibilitiesnterface with additional teams to support and utilize Viriditys cloud-computing analytics platformCommunicate data analysis methods, observations, and interpretations through reports and presentationsPerform additional job-related tasks as assignedEducation, Experience And Skills RequiredDegree or equivalent work experience in engineering, math, computer science, physics, or other quantitative discipline3-5 years experience in quantitative analysis role, particularly within the energy industryStrong understanding of energy storage systems and wholesale markets a plusProficient in Python (including pandas, numpy, scipy), MatLab, SQL, and MS Office Suite Experience with a variety of regression techniques (time-series modeling, support vector regression, linear regression, etc.) Ability to multi-task, learn new skills quickly and work in a fast paced startup environmentPhysical RequirementsMust be able to work in an office environment.This job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping and kneeling.The ability to work at a computer and computer monitor for long periods of time and stay alert.This position requires sitting 80% of the time and standing and walking 20% of the time.Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
