About this Position
The data to fight cancer lies in images - specifically, in gigapixel scans of tissue. The Research Engineer will be directly involved in the development of cutting-edge AI technology in the field of pathology. Using your experience and knowledge in machine learning algorithms, you will play a key role in the research and development of Proscia's digital pathology and AI software. As a core member of Proscia's R&D team, you will be an essential part of transforming the practice of pathology and cancer diagnosis, turning pixels into patterns and insights in the fight against cancer.

Implement and train deep learning models as part of an established, growing research teamPerform scientific experiments in deep learning, draw conclusions and formulate new ideasPerform computer vision-based image analysisIdentify trends in biological data that aid in model design and development. Apply statistical theory and mathematical principles to generate key insights from experimental results. Collaborate in the conceptualization of deep learning architectures and workflow pipelines with the research teamGenerate and architect solutions to challenging problems in deep learning and their practical implementationStay abreast of the state of the art and participate in scientific journal discussionsDocument and report experiments and conclusions
Need to have:
M.S. with 2 years experience or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Informatics or related field Strong foundation in application-oriented statistics (power and sample size calculations, Bayesian statistics, hypothesis testing, etc.)Experience in data mining and analytics to improve deep learning practicesFamiliarity with pattern recognition and statistical signal/ image processingStrong programming skills in Python, RProficiency in Machine Learning and Computer Vision algorithmsExperience with deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow, Caffe or Torch, and a drive that has taken you past plug-and-play machine learningExperience in algorithm development and optimizationDemonstrated ability to work in a team environmentStrong problem-solving and written and verbal communication skillsA passion for translational biomedical research
