Data Scientist at Group K Diagnostics (Philadelphia, PA)

Group K Diagnostics (GKD) is seeking an enthusiastic Data Science Engineer to immediately contribute to an end product with the potential to impact millions of lives.
At GKD, we are aiming to change the diagnostic process for both patients and caregivers by increasing accessibility to what we believe to be one of the most important assessements of human health the blood test.
To this end, our team has developed the MultiNostic Test Kit - a single platform, versatile point of care (POC) device that uses an accompanying mobile application to read its results. Placing a drop of blood on the device's testing sites induces a color change. Our development team is creating an end product that will allow an iOS device to translate the color change into a quantifiable diagnosis and properly manages the patients data. Its with this device and software that we plan to revolutionize the diagnostic industry.
If the mission sounds eerily similar to Theranos, thats because it is. Greater accessibility to and engagement in health care for patients is a completely realistic and attainable objective. But there are many differences in our organizations operations, expertise, technology and viability from that of Theranos.
Our Founder is a bioengineer by training, with years of experience in microfluidics and immunology research. We have a carefully curated pipeline for our diagnostic developments, and do not claim that one product can diagnose everything. Our team is comprised of cross-disciplinary experts that collaborate, innovate and produce novel solutions to never-been-solved problems on a daily basis. Our technology is not direct-to-consumer, but instead is intended for use at physicians offices so that results may be interpreted by healthcare professionals. We require no extensive training or expensive equipment to use our product.
