At GKD, we are aiming to change the diagnostic process for both patients and caregivers by increasing accessibility to what we believe to be one of the most important assessements of human health the blood test.
To this end, our team has developed the MultiNostic Test Kit - a single platform, versatile point of care (POC) device that uses an accompanying mobile application to read its results. Placing a drop of blood on the device's testing sites induces a color change. Our development team is creating an end product that will allow an iOS device to translate the color change into a quantifiable diagnosis and properly manages the patients data. Its with this device and software that we plan to revolutionize the diagnostic industry.

Description: GKD is looking for a Data Science Engineer capable of working closely with our R&D team to fine tune the image processing capabilities of our proprietary software plaform. Data and image processing will stand as a majority of this positions responsibilities, with an added challenge of developing software within the healthcare industry. A successful candidate in this position will have a strong background in statistics and working with data using Python and its family of data science libraries (numpy, scipy and pandas). This candidate will also be expected to learn image processing techniques to increase efficiency of the product. As with any innovative technology, evolution in complexity of role is definite, with machine learning and other cutting edge programming to become a part of this positions day to day. Experience in managing healthcare data a plus.
The ideal candidate can work and communicate with technical and non-technical employees in a fast-paced environment, and must also have experience in the following:
Strong understanding of Python, and a familiarity with the libraries numpy, pandas and scipyPreference given to candidates that have experience with OpenCV or other Python compatible image processing libraries, although learning on the job is also accepted Familiarity with Linux or Mac Operating Systems
