iOS Developer - Robotics at EquipmentShare (Kansas City, MO)

The Opportunity

We’ve already changed how contractors rent, track and own equipment. We’ve shipped a suite of products and services dedicated to delivering direct value to construction professionals to help them work smarter and more efficiently. Now, we’re ready to go one step further and lay the groundwork for the future of construction.

We’re expanding our Engineering scope to include Robotics and Autonomous solutions for the commercial construction industry and will continue on our mission to provide tech-enabled solutions designed for the modern contractor.

This is bigger than creating a new product or feature within our platform. We’re answering the call to fix the industry-wide problem of dwindling productivity levels with the solution of cutting-edge automation technology.

And we need a highly skilled, experienced, free-thinking and curious iOS developer to help us do that.

About EquipmentShare

Willy and Jabbok Schlacks co-founded EquipmentShare in 2014. After winning Startup Weekend in Columbia, MO, the Schlacks brothers catapulted their local startup winning idea into full-blown disruption opportunity after being accepted into YCombinator’s Winter 2015 batch. They received their seed round shortly after Demo Day.

Originally, EquipmentShare was an opportunity to apply the sharing economy to the construction business and help contractors monetize idle or underutilized equipment to offset costs and curtail losses on equipment investments. We launched as the “Airbnb for Construction.”

We’ve come a long way since Demo Day, and we’ve learned a lot.

We’ve grown from five co-founders to over 400 employees. From two brick-and-mortar locations in the midwest to 15 markets across the U.S. And from one singular offering to an entire ecosystem, completely dedicated to delivering direct value to our end users with core values rooted in exceptional design and seamless user experiences.

In 2018, EquipmentShare was named Top Place to Work in Columbia, received the Fast Track Award from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and also landed at #31 in the YC Top 100 Companies list last October.

Expansion and scale will be dominant themes for us this year. Our new market initiatives will continue to ramp up and serve to expand reach, drive customer acquisition, retention and most importantly, deploy and deliver our proprietary technology directly to contractors as part of our rental service: theEquipmentShare platform.

We are just getting started.

The EquipmentShare Robotics Team

Our Engineering team is a sum of many highly talented and experienced engineers from all over. We are a distributed network of all ages and backgrounds. Our platform echoes its creators’ belief in open-source development as it is completely OEM-agnostic and leverages software applications to a space that has been ripe for modernization for decades.

Our elite Robotics team is leading that charge for industry modernization. This select team is no stranger to creating tools, solutions and products that wildly change the user’s experience; their resumes run deep. This specialized group of technologists has over 40 years of combined industry experience in mechanical and automation engineering in global industrial markets. They don’t see their current work as jobs, but rather as laying the groundwork for changing how urban development is done after decades of the same practices, tools and processes.

Be a Part of Something That’s Changing Everything

We are a rapidly growing organization made up of talented individuals who grind until their goals are reached. We want you to join us if you’re thrilled about jumping in, learning fast, caring deeply about our success and achieving wildly. EquipmentShare respects our employees’ lives outside of work and offers perks, discounts, the tech resources you need to be the most effective, full benefits and highly competitive salaries because we couldn’t do this without you… literally.

We’re creating ways for the construction industry to leverage technology to become more productive, safe and efficient, and we anchor our decision-making by what is in the best interest of our end-user: the contractor.

Autonomous solutions encompass incredible opportunities for contractors and if leveraged and applied effectively, can transform not only a jobsite or reduce exposure to risk, but shift an entire industry through greater adoption.

We are creating a better way to build. Apply today, and you’ll hear from us soon if we think there may be a fit.
